Acupuncture without the puncture
*
We’re lucky to have so many acupuncturists in New Mexico, practicing so many different styles. I’m one of a growing number who do Toyo Hari meridian therapy, a form of Japanese acupuncture. One advantage of Hari is that rather than simply moving and balancing the Qi that you already have in your body, I can pour extra energy right into points to give your body what it needs. This is usually done at the surface of your skin, without inserting needles, so that it’s perfect for even the most sensitive patients. Very needle-phobic patients might want the option of starting with this technique alone.
For the non-insertion method I like to use a teishin, a blunt silver needle with a rounded end that feels very comfortable against your skin.
